The Great British Food Awards -Shortlisted our Denver steaks and they is what the judges thought!

With its fantastic balance of beefy flavour and sumptuous texture, this fabulous steak thoroughly won our judges over. The meat had excellent marbling which melted away upon cooking and resulted in plenty of juiciness. This is a steak that lends well to being cooked medium rare to preserve its wonderful moisture and rich taste, and our judges grilled this steak over a high heat that gave the outside a delightful smokiness.
Provenance: 5/5 Our panel were impressed by Deersbrook Farm’s commitment to rearing British beef using homegrown Sussex cattle. Producing great-tasting beef on their very own farm in Essex and the no-waste agenda which uses the whole carcass of the cow were two elements that really stood out. Deersbrook’s close attention to detail in terms of the welfare and diet of the cows was another big plus. Score: 13/15
